Hot Dog Takes Lead over Hamburger at Little League World Series
(PRWEB) August 20, 2008 --Fans at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. have begun casting ballots in Delaware North Companies Sportservice's concessions election. Early results have given Hot Dog a slim lead and have everyone wondering whether Hamburger will be able to Ketchup.
Nearly 1,000 Little League World Series fans cast votes during Monday's action. Hot Dog collected 51 percent of the votes while Hamburger held on to 49 percent of all ballots cast. Those numbers translate to 489 votes for Hot Dog and 470 for Hamburger.
The concession stands are singing a very different tune through four days of action at the international event. Fans have been eating more than 7,000 hot dogs a day as Sportservice continues to post record-breaking sales figures. Fans have been ordering 10 hot dogs for every one hamburger according to Sportservice Executive Chef Joe Ditri.
Other hot products at the Little League World Series include Dippin Dots, driven by several new ice cream kiosks at the complex. French Fries have also been a popular item with more than 8,250 pounds of spuds sold already.
Delaware North Companies Sportservice is the official food service provider for the Little League World Series. Sportservice will continue to poll fans on their favorite between Hot Dog and Hamburger through Saturday and will announce the winner on Sunday before the championship game.
